Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive at Canodyne.

About CBD

CBD, or cannabidiol [can-uh-bi-DIAL] is one of the two main cannabinoids [CAN-uh-bi-noids] found in cannabis plants like hemp and marijuana.  Cannabinoids (over 120 different varieties of them) are the chemical compounds in cannabis plants that interact with your body’s endocannabinoid system to achieve certain effects (more on the ECS later). Consider CBD an active ingredient of cannabis plants. Most CBD is directly derived from hemp.  The other major cannabinoid, THC  (tetrahydrocannabinol), is known to be mood-altering and habit-forming. Hemp carries <0.3% THC whereas some marijuana plants carry upwards of 30% THC.

When someone ingests or uses a topical CBD product, CBD compounds enter your body and attach themselves to your cells’ receptors to turn those cells on or off, achieving a number of functions related to health and wellbeing. The potential uses of CBD include pain relief, improved sleep quality, and reduced anxiety and depression to name a few. This system of neurotransmitters and receptors that function to maintain homeostasis is called the endocannabinoid system.

The Endocannabinoid System, or ECS. Endocannabinoid is a combination of endo-, meaning “within,” “absorbing,” or “containing”, and -cannabinoid, which is the type of chemical compound CBD is. So, the ECS is the complex network of cannabinoid receptors and neurotransmitters that densely populate your body and brain. It manages the release of your body’s naturally produced cannabinoids in order to maintain homeostasis whenever something goes awry. In this way, it controls a massive range of day-to-day human functions like sleep, mood, appetite, temperature control, immune response, pain and pleasure perception, fertility, memory, and learning.

The ECS is currently at the center of renewed international research and drug development with highly promising outcomes in the areas of pain management, treatment of PTSD, and management of inflammatory conditions.

Simply put, hemp seed oil has little-to-no CBD content. It’s made by cold-pressing a hemp plant’s seeds into an omega-rich culinary oil, similar to how olives are cold-pressed to make olive oil. CBD oil, on the other hand, involves extracting the CBD chemical compound from a hemp plant’s leaves, flowers, and stalks, and diluting it into another oil like coconut or hemp seed oil.

CBD products are developed in three forms: full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, and CBD isolate.

• Full-spectrum CBD contains small amounts of all components of the cannabis plant, which means it can have trace amounts of THC.

• Broad-Spectrum CBD contains other cannabinoids aside from CBD, but not THC.

• CBD Isolate is, as it sounds, pure CBD without the presence of any other cannabinoid.

Canodyne products are 100% THC free and use only BROAD-SPECTRUM CBD and CBD ISOLATE depending on which product you choose to use.

No. CBD is non-psychoactive and non-addictive. Canodyne products contain zero THC, guaranteed.

The Canodyne Difference

Canodyne was founded on the principles of wellness and research.

Our mission is to provide natural solutions that RELIEVE pain, RESTORE function, and RECHARGE energy levels of those seeking to improve their daily quality of life.

Our innovative approach to technology ensures that our products deliver the purest form of hemp extract possible.  We are committed to rigorous testing of our products, sourcing only the highest quality ingredients, and staying on the forefront of cannabinoid research to ensure our customers are receiving the best products available.

CBD is known for its low bioavailability. This means that when you apply most CBD products topically only about 10% ends up in your bloodstream. The reason for this waste is that most cannabinoids are oil-based but most marketed CBD products are made with water-based carriers. As we all know, water and oil do not mix, so much of the CBD is lost before it reaches your ECS.

Canodyne’s Nano Encapsulated CBD offers a science-based solution to this problem. By shrinking CBD particle size, we ensure that the CBD compound released in your body reaches your endocannabinoid system. This increases the CBD absorption rate by up to 90%, significantly improving its efficacy.

All Canodyne Topical CBD Products contain Nano Encapsulated CBD to ensure maximum absorption.

Canodyne CBD has partnered with one of the largest hemp farms in Colorado to responsibly source our Nano Encapsulated CBD and other Broad Spectrum and Isolate specialty oils. This reliable business oversees product creation from start to finish, harvesting the seeds and creating raw CBD extracts. Via small batch manufacturing, we are able to closely monitor the CBD concentration of each lot and ensure a high standard of production across our entire product line.

A John Hopkins University research study in 2017 revealed that 69 of 84 tested CBD products were inaccurately labeled, and 21% contained a detectable amount of THC.

Immediately after learning of these findings, we invested in regular testing. We pride ourselves on providing the best and safest product to our customers and want to be confident that what is on the label is in the product, 100% of the time.

We are proud to share that after production, each lot is expertly tested for concentration and purity at an ISO certified, third-party laboratory.  COA’s for all of our products can be found on our product pages.

Legal Questions

Yes! The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (known as the 2018 Farm Bill) was signed into law on December 20, 2018, legalizing the cultivation and sale of hemp at the federal level effective January 1, 2019.

If you use a CBD product from another manufacturer that does not test each product’s composition like Canodyne CBD does, it’s possible that it contained trace amounts of THC and could result in a positive drug test. At Canodyne CBD, we are fully aware of this risk, and it is part of the reason why all of our products are lab-tested to ensure they are 100% THC free.

No, the FDA has only approved one cannabinoid product and that is one prescription drug used for the treatment of seizures. Because CBD is not considered a food additive, it does not meet the FDA’s definition of a dietary supplement. To ensure the items we sell are safe and THC-free, we run all of our products through rigid laboratory testing so our customers have nothing to worry about.

Research shows that CBD is an effective anti-inflammatory alternative to NSAIDS and opioids, resulting in significant pain improvement without many of the negative side effects associated with prescribed and OTC pain medication. You should always consult your physician to learn if CBD is a possible alternative to your current pain management regiment.
